Since 1934, the Federal Duck Stamp has raised more than $1.2 billion and conserved more than 6 million acres of habitat.
Where it started
Congress passed the Duck Stamp Act in 1934 as duck numbers fell. Ding Darling drew the first stamp.
Where the money goes
Stamp dollars buy and protect wetlands, much of it in the National Wildlife Refuge System, where hunters and other visitors can enjoy it.
